This has been a cold winter. There is no denying that. I have heard rumors, that range from, "This is the coldest winter in 110 years," "This is the coldest winter in 30 years,", "This is the coldest winter in the 2000's", etc. Regardless of how long it has been since it has been this cold there is no one denying the fact that it has been cold. Since we came back from Christmas break it hasn't gotten above freezing.
One Saturday we decided to go to school to let the kids run around. We bundled them all up, drove over to school, got out of the car, and decided that there was no way that we were going to be staying outside. It was too cold...even for just a few minutes. So, we tried brainstorming what we could do. There is a little coffee shop called, Noriter, that Kacy has been begging us to go to. They have all sorts of little lofts and nooks and crannies that you can sit it. Each place has a lot of pillows and little lamps to hang out with.
It was kind of spontaneous, but fun to just hang out with our family. The girls got hot chocolate and Darren and I each got a Mint Mocha. We didn't have any cards or anything, but some friends, the Loebers gave us an Uno app for the I-phone, so Darren pulled that out and we played Uno on the I-phone in our little loft.
For Christmas, Darren got some toys that would allow him to set his camera up in different places so that we could set the timer and take some pictures. So, Darren rigged up a couple of his gadgets and attaching his camera to the handrail for the staircase took this picture of our family.
