Our Family

We are settling into life as a family of 5. It is different, but it is good! Today we had a great day! I can sit back and think that I got to spend individual time with each of my kids. I saw them enjoy the day in their own way.

One of the fun activities of the day was Darren found some old walkie-talkies. Kacy thought that these were awesome! She spent a large part of the day running around the house talking to us. Another highlight was playing hide-and-go-seek with them. We still have to work on making sure we are always being truthful in our answers.

Sara on the other hand is a lot more independent. She spent a lot of the day doing her own thing. Playing in her kitchen, cleaning her chair, watering her plants, really just living in her own imagination. Sara pretty much keeps us laughing all the time. She is very dramatic and has a mind of her own. She pretty much says everything that she thinks.

Ethan had a good day too. He pretty much spent the day eating, sleeping, and getting his diaper changed. He got up and played a little bit with his sisters. They spent some good time on the floor just staring at each other. Both girls right now are absolutely obsessed with their baby brother. They love to hug/kiss him, feed him, hold him, and wake him up! :) It is fun to see them so excited about him.

Darren and I too had good days. It was one of those days that at the end we think...it is going to work. We are going to be able to manage all three kids. It is has been great to have all of us at home and to work together to build our new family dynamics and routines. This really is a special time and I'm trying to cherish every moment!

Ethan's First Visitors

On his first day of life Ethan had many visitors. We had a first good day together. He is, in my unbiased opinion very cute! :) He is doing what most newborns do...eating, sleeping, and getting his diaper changed regularly.

We went home Monday morning.

Ethan Mark Price

Darren arrived in Greensboro about 2:30 in the afternoon from Seoul on Saturday, May 15th. Baby brother had been waiting patiently, but was not going to wait until May 21st, his original due date. Laura had felt some contractions in the morning but nothing substantial. By 6:00 PM, it seemed evident that Saturday night/Sunday morning would be spent in the hospital. By about 9:30 PM, we were checked into High Point Regional. Ethan Mark Price was born at 11:34 PM. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces (3.88 kilos). He was 21 inches long (53.34 cm). Mom & Ethan did great and both are healthy.

Ethan means "firm, strong." It is our prayer that Ethan will be strong in the Lord in the same way he was strong in the womb and has kicked and beat on Laura throughout her pregnancy. Mark, in addition to being Darren's middle name, means "warlike" in Latin and "shining, polite" in Hebrew. Our prayer is that Ethan Mark would carry on a heritage of walking with God. We pray he will firmly and strongly and unwaverly "fight the good fight," sharing God's love throughout his life.

We are grateful that God allowed Ethan to wait until Darren got to NC. We also give praise for no complications during the delivery despite a full knot in the umbilical cord which could have been very problematic.

TIme for a change...

So, for those of you still following our blog...we have been very delinquent in our post. However as most of you know or you should know we are expecting our third child in the next 10 days give or take...so I figured we needed to get our blog updated, change the template, and then we could start over for our new addition!

So, hope you enjoyed the back-dated post and we will try to be more active in the next little while.

Enjoy! The current Price Family (Darren, Laura, Kacy, and Sara)

Portraits

One of my goals prior to #3 coming was to get pictures of the girls taken. This was one of those fun things that we got to do. The girls had a blast and I really enjoyed too. Of course for me the biggest problem was choosing from all the pictures which ones I liked the best. Here are a few of the ones that we got.

Finishing Kindergarten

Since Kacy left school and missed the last six weeks of Kindergarten we have been trying to keep up with a little of what they have been doing. The final unit that they are working on is living things so we have been working with living things. Check out the video below in which Kacy narrates planting some flowers.

Btw, of the six sets of seeds that we planted five of them have started to spout something. The girls are very excited to see them grow.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

April 18th, 2010 Lesley, Kenan, Kacy, Sara, and I all got on a plane and headed back to the states. Unfortunately we had to leave Darren in Korea...which I didn't really enjoy, but we new we had to do. Anyways, overall the trip went well and other than Kacy throwing up all over me and the rude man in front of me everything went smooth.

Regardless, we are now in North Carolina waiting for Darren to come and then waiting for the arrival of our new little boy. We have had fun, we have had some hard days, but overall it has been a good time for me and the girls to hang out and get ready for another change in our family.

We will keep you posted on what happens!
