Kacy's Blog

Kacy has been watching us blog and we often show her what we have done and look at it. Recently, she has expressed an interest in starting her own blog. So we decided to let her. As she is in first grade and really starting to write and type we decided to work with her to help extend some of her skills. So, some of her post are her own typing and some are dictated as Darren or I type. Click on the link below and enjoy her thoughts. Also, she would love to get comments...so feel free to post a comment on her blog.

Sara's Birthday

So, this week has been a very busy week for the Price family. It started with PD on Monday and Tuesday. For those of you that don't know I got a new job this year, PYP Coordinator and ICT teacher. With this new position comes a different perspective on PD days. I get to help facilitate and run them. So now those PD days require a lot of work, attention, and brain activity for me. Needless to say at the end of the school day on Tuesday I was exhausted...but this was just the start of the week.

Wednesday was Sara's Dora birthday party. I'm not quite sure I always feel obligated to throw big parties, but I always enjoyed them as kids and know that my kids look forward to them. So, Darren spent a lot of Tuesday night cutting up fruits and vegetables while I spent the majority of Tuesday night making a map, coloring boots, and creating other fun activities. Thank goodness for my mom who made the cake...it was awesome as always!

So, Wednesday night I was ready to crash and tried to go to bed early. That never seems to happen. It wasn't long after I fell asleep that we got a phone call that one of the teachers at our sister school, GSIS, had passed away. This meant that Darren would have to get up at 4:30 the next morning to drive to Suwon to be there for a crisis management team, and meant that I was on my own with the kids. Something I'm quite used to when I'm prepared, but I wasn't prepared...so my Thursday got off to a shaky start.

We spent the rest of the week celebrating...Halloween on Friday, Kirk Hawkins B-day on Friday, celebration for another friend's birthday on Saturday, and so it goes. I do feel rested after the weekend and ready for another week...Hopefully at a slower pace than last weeks.

Sara's 4th Birthday!

I'm getting ready to teach Garage Band to 5th graders next year and needed a refresher...so Darren and I took some of her birthday pictures and had her explain what happened at her birthday party. Obviously there was a little prompting by me...but this is what you get with a little bit of work. Enjoy!

A typical weekend in our life...

It is October, and it is absolutely beautiful here in Korea! I only hope that the weather continues a little bit longer. When we have this type of weather we like to spend as much time outside as possible. So, here was part of our weekend.

Thursday and Friday we had parent teacher conferences. We spent a lot of time at school, but we tried to get outside a bunch. Here are some pictures of us just hanging out!

Kacy and her friend, Anja are drawing the fall scene.

Sara, resting with me during one of the breaks during our conferences.

Ethan is at the age now where he is grabbing everything. Nothing is safe. Last week he pulled a bowl of hot soup on Lisa, my sister, he was grabbing food off of our plates, and he grabbed a jewelry box and hit himself in the head with it. He also has twice, gotten upset when something got taken away from him that he wanted. He is starting to express his opinion...although I will stay he is still an amazing baby! We are so blessed!

Sara decided that she needed a little break. So, since Darren's office is next to the computer lab she went in there and hung out for a little while. She definitely knows how to work that mouse and she is intent on whatever she is viewing.

Saturday Morning--I have been 'helping' out with soccer on Saturday mornings. It is fun and Kacy is really starting to get more aggressive and enjoy the sport. So, this Saturday our numbers were down, but the kids really wanted to play a game...so we had the parents join in. Kacy really enjoyed beating her dad, 5-3.

Ethan even got into a little soccer action!

K-2 Soccer

With the fall and the change of seasons comes soccer here at TCIS. Kacy is playing again with the K-2 program. I, Laura, get the privilege of helping to "coach" here, in actuality I just do whatever the real coach, Coach Ward, tells me to do. It is lots of fun and it is just great being outside in this weather.
It has been pretty amazing to see Kacy's progression over one year. Last year she was a kindergartner and spent as much time looking at the flowers or resting as she did playing. This year she has already scored a goal and is very eager and aggressive. It is fun to watch her out there. Of course she usually wants to be "attacker!"

Ethan-4 Months

Ethan is growing so quickly it is hard to believe. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when he was just at 4 months old. He is so alert and very interactive with everyone. He started on rice cereal and as is always the case it was kind of brutal the first few days, but now he loves it! He can't get enough...hence the rolls that are starting to form!

Go Heels!

BENNIGANS

It was a good time at Bennigan's. That is a funny picture.

MY FAVORITE THING AT BENNIGANS IS THE PLAYPLACE.

I'm eating mushroom soup. I love mushroom soup.
