A Random October Day

We had the opportunity to go to Seoul this week for the day. The kids enjoyed some time on the playground and we were able to take some pictures.

They are all growing so big so fast...

Hanging Out

Awww, summertime...it is always a good time of relaxation, spending time with family and friends, and eating.

Before we left Korea, the girls had a chance to get their hair done. They really enjoy a relaxing time at the hairdressers. Always a great start to the summer.

Back in NC: Ethan enjoys crawling around and playing with his sisters. He is into exploring and has a good time checking everything out!

Once return to North Carolina the kids have to explore and re-find all their toys. They had a blast building this fort in our living room. Ethan really enjoyed harassing the girls even though the girls weren't always thrilled.

Once again many days are spent at parks and going for walks. Trying to enjoy the outside before it gets too hot.

Waterfights and Summer Fun

Following on of our school work days the girls decided they wanted to "get" Mr. Landon. We warned him that a threat had been made and soon a full watergun fight ensued.

The preparations were made. Waterguns loaded and water bucket filled for re-fills. The fight was primarily between Kacy, Sara, and Mr. Landon.

(Ms. Brenna was the official photographer.)

The three muskateers...

Ethan didn't have a water gun but he enjoyed the water bucket.

O Jung Dong Farewell & Graduation 2011

As we end another school year it is full of the normal festivities of graduation, faculty farewell, and packing up our school for the big move.

Graduation this year was outside and the weather was actually really nice. Although it looked like it might rain, it didn't. Our kids all made it to graduation this year. Here are the girls at graduation. Sara even got to enjoy some coloring with some of her friends. Ethan just smiled at those passing by.

Faculty Farewell

As we ended the school year, the faculty farewell was a little different this year. This is our last year at the O Jung Dong site for TCIS. The school will be relocating to its new site in Techno Valley. Some of the ritualistic duties that were done were to remove the school seal from the atrium and an attempt to remove the cornerstone from the ES Library although this proved to be too difficult and they ended up leaving it in for the time being.

Ethan Turns 1 Price Style

So, May 15th, 2010...the girls and I were back in the states waiting for the arrival or Ethan. Darren was scheduled to back to NC for the summer and then Ethan could come anytime after that. Well, Ethan did wait until Daddy came, but just a few hours. We picked Darren up at the airport, went to dinner, and then went to the hospital. Ethan was born at 11:?? on May 15th.

A full year later, wow how things change. But here we are at his first birthday.

Grandma Penland once again worked her magic and created a great birthday cake for Ethan. It was cute and took her a long time. It was gluten free as we haven't introduced him to gluten yet, but we probably will in the near future.

It was a beautiful spring day and there wasn't really an "agenda" for the party, other than to celebrate Ethan and hang out with friends. The party was scheduled to last from 3:00-4:30, but in actuality lasted much longer because we just hung out with friends.

Ethan got his first taste of cake. As if usual he was timid at first, but then decided that he really liked the icing and ate quite a bit. I don't know if ever really got into the cake part.

Ethan really enjoyed the bright shiny paper and the presents that made noise. Thanks to all that came to celebrate and share this special day with us. Ethan is a special boy and we are so blessed to have him in our lives~

Ethan Turns 1 Korean Style

Friday, May 13th the ELC held a little birthday party for Ethan. Ms. Kim who has been out for medical reasons promised me that she would make Ethan a Duk cake and come for his party. She showed up and it was great to see her. Another lady in our community offered to lend Ethan her son's Hanbok. So, Ethan got to wear a Korean hanbok. We didn't participate in some of the other traditional Korean activities, but it was fun to celebrate with kids from the ELC.

Spring Flowers 2011

As is the general theme lately, outside, spring...here is an opportunity that Darren took to get the kids outside and take some pictures of them near the new school site.
There are some beautiful flowers growing there. Enjoy!
