A couple of weeks ago, the Willoughby's asked if we would like to go on a "hike" with them. We readily agreed as it is getting warmer and the idea of a day outside was/is appealing. So, we headed of for The Fortress that is near our school and Chicken Foot (a local mountain).
This trip as someone with a GPS calculated it was 8 miles round trip. We all faired pretty well. Sara Willoughby (7), Silas Willoughby (5) and Kacy made it all the way up and back on their own. They were true troopers. Nina W. (2) and Sara made it all the way up and back on the backs of their parents. The adults just made the trip and enjoyed some time outdoors and with good company.
It was a pretty cold day, colder than we had anticipated, but it was fun none-the-less. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and it was beautiful. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Sara is an adventurer, willing to give me things a try, including some food (or rock) off the ground.
Mommy and Kacy on the path. Aren't they both so cute?!

These pictures definitely confirm that the graveyard mountain that andy, dave, and I found was definitely NOT chickenfoot. Where in the world were we? so lost. Glad y'all had a great hike. ekw
