We left the beach on the 4th of July. Instead of taking the direct route home decided to travel up to Southport Beach to the official North Carolina 4th of July parade. For our Third Culture Kids, it is important to connect them to the USA and to try and encourage pride for their home country. So, although this was a little out of our way, it was great. It was hot and busy, but it was fun!
My mom really loved the Hillbilly float. This reminded her a lot of her upbringing! :) We got a close-up of the guy in the outhouse.
