As was noted in the previous post Ryan Pierce came into town for the wedding of Lee and Callie Smith. Ryan has a lot of skills and positive traits, but one thing that I really admire about him is his determination to see people and re-connect. So, although we have been in Greensboro for 5 weeks. We have seen more people in the past 4 days that we have seen in the previous 5 weeks.
Jobe and Caleb West talking with Ryan
One Sunday evening, we headed out to a park to meet up with Jobe West and his family as well as Walter Burney and his family. We have definitely come a long ways. It used to just be the boys going out somewhere for food and drinks. Now we have moved to a playground to accommodate the wives and kids. It was a blast. When we left Sara pointed to the playground and said, “Mommy, can we come back?” I said, “Sure sweety we come here a lot and we will come back.” I mean it is a playground near our house and we go there often. Then Sara replied, “No Mommy, I mean can we come with them again, that was fun!”The next day we Darren, Ryan, and I, dropped our kids off with our family and headed to lunch with Andrew Caldwell and Walter Burney. Following lunch we headed down to Atlanta to see Andy and Erin Witcher. We drove 6 hours down, ate dinner with them, chatted about their upcoming trip to Cambodia, and about how we would eventually do something great for this world...details to be worked out later. Then after some sleep we headed back to Greensboro with a short stop off at some outlets--priorities!
