Moving

After 7 years in our Saipiang, apartment, we have finally said goodbye. I remember arriving our first night in Korea to a stark, barren apartment. It was just Laura and I. Over the years, we have been blessed to have many things redone in our apartment. However, with the addition of both Kacy & Sara, the walls have seemed like they are closing in on us. We were hoping to upgrade our space but the opportunity just hasn't been there.

At the start of the year, the school decided to add half a dorm, forcing the move of a few residents in the building. So, last minute, to accommodate the dorm needs, we had the opportunity to move. We wanted to take advantage of it despite the timing. We moved all the way across town to Techno Valley where the school will be moving in approximately 18 months. We are about 500 meters from the new school site.


We made the actual move on the first day of school. Laura left and the Korean movers came in and dismantled our apartment. They hooked up a lift to the back balcony and away our stuff went. She came home to a new apartment with stuff everywhere. It is phenomenal how the movers pack everything up and put it back the way it was. It wasn't easy for them because our new apartment was so different. For many things, I told them to just leave it out.

We are loving our new place. It requires a 20 minute commute to school but is much nicer than we ever imagined. We feel very blessed. The apartments are all newer in this part of town. We have tons of playgrounds around and great recreational areas. This part of town is much greener than O Jung Dong. Here are some pictures from our neighborhood and our new apartment.
